UW Biological Sciences Research Internship in Thailand

CALS students have access to UW–Madison’s 300+ study abroad programs in more than 80 countries. Programs can range from one-week experiences to semester- or year-long programs, and everything in between. CALS Study Abroad, in partnership with International Academic Programs (IAP), offers a variety of international academic experiences for students of all majors! These include Short-Term Field Experiences, Summer Research and Internship Opportunities, and Semester-Long Exchange or Direct Enroll Programs at top universities around the world.

If you have questions about a specific program, please visit the Contact tab at the bottom of each program’s page.

Field Experiences are led by UW-Madison faculty and typically involve 12-18 students who travel together for 2-3 three weeks during winter, spring, or summer break. They are thematic in nature and often involve partnering with a local organization in the host community on a shared project.

As part of Summer Research or Internship Opportunities, students can intern abroad or are matched by UW-Madison faculty with a mentor at a partner university or facility abroad engaging in cutting-edge research in an outstanding and international environment.

Exchange and Direct Enroll programs allow students to enroll in classes for a semester or a year at a university abroad, providing a culturally and academically immersive experience. Exchange partners offer courses in English as well as the local language.

CALS students, depending on their academic, personal, and career goals, should also consider programs offered by other study abroad offices on campus.
