Short-Term Field Experiences

Field Experiences are led by UW-Madison faculty and typically involve 12-18 students who travel together for 2-3 three weeks during winter, spring, or summer break. They are thematic in nature and often involve partnering with a local organization in the host community on a shared project.

Summer Research and Internship Opportunities

As part of Summer Research Opportunities, students are matched by UW-Madison faculty with a mentor at a partner university or facility abroad where students engage in cutting-edge research in an outstanding and international environment.

Exchange and Direct Enroll Programs

Exchange and Direct Enroll programs allow students to enroll in classes for a semester or a year at a university abroad, providing a culturally and academically immersive experience. Exchange partners offer courses in English as well as the local language.

Additional Programs

CALS students, depending on their academic, personal, and career goals, can also consider programs offered by other study abroad offices on campus.
