No! Students can come to drop-in tutoring for specific questions, a place to study with classmates, or just to hear what questions others might have. To make the most of your drop-in tutoring time, plan to review your notes from lectures/labs/discussions and any readings or assignments you would like to discuss.

No! All you have to do is stop by during scheduled hours to receive help with an assignment, tips on studying for a test, or to ask a question. We do ask students to sign-in when they arrive so we can keep a count of those using the service for funding purposes.

Anyone currently enrolled in Biology/Zoology/Botany 151 or 152 is welcome to join drop-in tutoring, regardless of their School/College. Drop-in tutoring is a great option for those who want assistance or support but canโ€™t make a weekly commitment, or who want tutoring but donโ€™t think theyโ€™ll need help every week!

Drop-in tutoring is specifically for Biology/Zoology/Botany 151 and 152. GUTS supports Bio 101 through small group tutoring. A list of all tutoring centers can be found on the learning supports site.

If you have questions about the CALS student center or services, please email academicaffairs@cals.wisc.edu. If you have questions about GUTS or the tutors, please contact guts@rso.wisc.edu.
