    Join UW Extension for the on-farm mortality management workshop Animal Composting 101: Efficient, Compliant, and Practical. You will learn:

    • Why Compost: Benefits of composting vs. rendering or landfill
    • How Animal Composting works: The biological process in simple, practical terms
    • Step-by-step composting setup: From site selection to building your first pile
    • Carbon sources and materials: What works best (sawdust, manure, bedding, etc.)
    • Managing the compost pile: Temperature, moisture, turning, and troubleshooting – with a view at onsite piles.

    Hear from presenter Heather Schlesser an Extension Dairy Educator. Lunch is sponsored by the Marathon County Farm Bureau.
