The Hancock Potato Field Day will include researcher introductions, field wagon tours, potato research updates, self-guided tour of facilities, a social hour, and a grilled chicken dinner.
You’ll hear from UW experts:
- Matt Ruark sharing insights on Nitrogen Optimization
- Jeff Endelman with an update on the Potato Breeding Program
- Russ Groves discussing Insect Management in Potato and Processing Vegetables
- Francisco Arriaga & Evan Freed discussing Neonicotinoid and Nitrate Loss from Potato Production in Sandy Soil
- Jed Colquhoun & Steven Hall presenting on Water Quality and Weed Management Research updates
- Amanda Gevens sharing updates on Potato Disease Research
- Guolong Liang as the MC of the Field Wagon Tours & Potato Research updates
Self-guided tours of the UW Potato & Vegetable Storage Research Facility and A.R. Albert & Villetta Albert-Hawley Horticultural Garden will be available throughout the day.
The social hour will begin after the tours at the outdoor pavilion. A grilled chicken dinner with sweet corn, baked potato, potato salad, and refreshments will be provided, sponsored by the WPVGA’s Associate Division.
