Join UW Extension for the on-farm mortality management workshop Animal Composting 101: Efficient, Compliant, and Practical. You will learn:
- Why Compost: Benefits of composting vs. rendering or landfill
- How Animal Composting works: The biological process in simple, practical terms
- Step-by-step composting setup: From site selection to building your first pile
- Carbon sources and materials: What works best (sawdust, manure, bedding, etc.)
- Managing the compost pile: Temperature, moisture, turning, and troubleshooting – with a view at onsite piles.
