We’re In This Together
For the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) to maximize our impact within the key mission areas of research, teaching and outreach, we recognize the importance of a healthy climate. Research shows climate to be a driver of important organizational outcomes such as retention, engagement, organizational commitment and sense of belonging.
Although the CALS Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is tasked with leading these efforts more broadly, it is the responsibility of every member of our community—faculty, staff and students—to achieve and sustain a positive climate. It is our firm belief that achieving this strategic goal will mean building on our success as a college by capitalizing on untapped human potential.
We encourage each of you to utilize the various climate-related resources and services detailed on our website. They have been designed with the respective needs of our community members in mind.
Campus climate assessment in higher education measures the extent to which all students, faculty, staff, and visitors—regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability—feel welcomed, valued, and supported in their work, studies, or research.
